The Meghalaya NEET Cut Off 2026 for the first round of counselling provides a clear picture of the marks and ranks required for MBBS admission in the state. The Directorate of Health Services, Medical Education & Research (DME), Meghalaya, has released the first-round counselling result for admission to the first-year MBBS course at PA Sangma International Medical College for the 2026–27 academic year.

What Is the Meghalaya NEET Cut Off 2026?

The Meghalaya NEET Cut Off 2026 refers to the lowest NEET UG score and the All India Rank at which a candidate secured an MBBS seat during counselling. However, the cut-off varies by category and quota.

According to the first-round result for PA Sangma International Medical College, the State Quota Unreserved list closed at 444 marks. Meanwhile, the Khasi and Jaintia category closed at 395 marks, the Garo category at 193 marks, and the SC/OST category at 368 marks. The Management Quota list went down to 180 marks.

Therefore, students should check the cut-off for their own category rather than relying on a single general score. These figures are based on the last-listed candidate in each category and provide a practical picture of the Round 1 admission cut-off for the 2026–27 academic year.

PA Sangma Medical College Round 1 Cut-Off 2026

The Meghalaya NEET Round 1 Cut Off 2026 for PA Sangma International Medical College can be understood from the official merit list released for the 2026–27 academic year. The candidates are arranged in order of merit based on their NEET UG 2026 scores and All India Ranks.

The result includes candidates selected under both the State Quota and Management Quota. Moreover, the State Quota list is divided into Unreserved, Khasi and Jaintia, Garo, and SC/OST categories. For each candidate, the document provides the name, category, NEET UG score and All India Rank.

Which Category Recorded the Highest and Lowest Cut-Off?

Among the State Quota categories, the Unreserved category recorded the highest closing cut-off at 444 marks. In comparison, the Garo category had the lowest State Quota closing cut-off at 193 marks. The Khasi and Jaintia category closed at 395 marks, while the SC/OST category closed at 368 marks.

Meanwhile, the Management Quota went down to 180 marks, which was the lowest closing score across all the lists. However, students should compare State Quota and Management Quota figures separately because they follow different seat groups and admission conditions.

Factors Affecting the Meghalaya NEET Cut Off

The Meghalaya NEET Cut Off does not remain the same for every category, quota or counselling round. Several factors decide how high or low the closing score will be.

Number of Available MBBS Seats

The number of available MBBS seats directly affects the cut-off. When a college has fewer seats, competition becomes stronger and the cut-off may rise. However, a larger number of seats can give more students a chance to secure admission.

Number of Applicants

The total number of students applying for admission also matters. If many candidates compete for a limited number of seats, the cut-off may increase. On the other hand, fewer applicants may lead to a lower closing score.

Category-Wise Reservation

Seats are divided among different categories according to the applicable reservation rules. Therefore, the cut-off can vary for the Unreserved, Khasi and Jaintia, Garo, and SC/OST categories. Students should always check the cut-off for their own category.

Candidates’ NEET Scores

The overall performance of the applicants plays an important role. If many candidates have high NEET UG scores, the closing cut-off is likely to remain high. However, if fewer candidates score well, the cut-off may fall.

Quota Type

State Quota and Management Quota seats have separate merit lists. As a result, their opening and closing scores can be different. Students should compare their marks with the correct quota instead of using one common cut-off.

Seats Left After Round 1

Some seats may remain vacant if selected candidates do not join, surrender their seats or move to another college. These seats may become available in the next counselling round. Therefore, the Round 2 cut-off may change depending on the number of vacant seats and participating candidates.

Conclusion

The Meghalaya NEET Cut Off helps students understand the scores and ranks at which MBBS seats were allotted during Round 1. However, students should check their own category and quota before judging their admission chances. Since the available figures apply only to PA Sangma International Medical College, they should not be treated as common cut-offs for every medical college in Meghalaya

Is the Round 1 result the same as an official cut-off list?

The Meghalaya NEET Round 1 Result 2026 is a merit-based list of selected candidates, not a separate cut-off document. However, students can identify the practical closing cut-off by checking the NEET score and All India Rank of the last-listed candidate in each category.

Is the State Quota cut-off the same for every category?

No. The Meghalaya NEET State Quota Cut Off 2026 varies across the Unreserved, Khasi and Jaintia, Garo, and SC/OST categories. Since seats are allotted through separate category-wise merit lists, students should compare their scores only with the closing score of their own category.

Can the closing marks change in the next counselling round?

Yes, the closing marks may change in Round 2. Some selected students may not join the college, while others may surrender or upgrade their seats. As a result, vacant seats may become available. The final score will depend on seat availability and the candidates participating in that round.
